Who are you?
We are dealers in antique and vintage jewelry, a small family business. Originally, from Ireland, we have been living and working in The Netherlands for well over a decade now. If you want to read more about us and the store, click on over to "About us".
Do you have a shop we can visit?
We sure do. We are based on the ground floor of a beautiful 18th Century Dutch house, in the oldest part of Amsterdam.

We are open Monday through Saturday between 11am - 6pm and on Sundays from 12pm - 5pm, unless stated otherwise. We look forward to welcoming you into our little antique jewelry shop in the heart of Amsterdam.
Why sell antique jewelry?
In our opinion. antique & vintage jewelry has an enduring charm, quality and distinction that modern manufactured jewelry simply cannot match. Antique jewelry is an investment for the future, an heirloom you can pass on. Also, we think it's nicer for the planet to invest in beautiful pieces that have already existed for decades, centuries even.
How can you tell how old jewelry is?
We use our vast knowledge to date each piece based on the item's materials, construction techniques, hallmarks, signatures, and cultural context. Using our knowledge, experience and network of resources, we can usually identify the age of each item. While we cannot guarantee the exact age of each piece, we can determine to the best of our ability when it was likely manufactured and during which era it was designed.
Where do you find your jewelry?
This is the most frequently asked question and a highly guarded trade secret. We are always looking out for the highest quality and extraordinary pieces, so you don’t have to!
What conditions are your items in?
Our jewelry is in excellent condition, taking into account its age. We try to select the best examples of antique jewelry and if needed work with local goldsmiths in bringing these pieces back to their former glory. In exceptional circumstances when an item is not in excellent condition, we will mention it in our item descriptions. Of course, please do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to hear more or come visit our store in Amsterdam.
How often to you get new jewelry?
We are always on the hunt for new treasures and update our website with new finds on a weekly basis!
Do you purchase old jewelry?
We are interested in fine quality antique pieces to add to our collection.
Do you offer appraisal services?
We do not offer appraisal services.
Are all of the products you carry in your Amsterdam store available for purchase online?
Right now, we only sell a select portion of our jewelry online. We are working hard to expand our online selection, and encourage you to visit our store to see our entire collection.
PURCHASING, PAYMENTS & THE GENERAL PROCESS
How do I purchase something online?
We've tried to make purchasing on our website as easy as possible. Navigate to an item you want and click the 'Add to Cart' button. When you are happy to proceed to payment, click on 'Cart' in the top right of the screen and follow the simple steps, using our secure payment gateway.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards - Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and American Express - as well as PayPal, Ideal, SOFORT, Giropay, SEPA, Bancontact, EPS, ING Home'Pay and KBC/CBC. You can read all about it right here.
Can I pay any other way than online?
Yes! We are happy for you to pay via bank transfer or in the store as well when you pick up your special piece of jewelry.
After I place an order, when can I expect to receive it?
We endeavor to dispatch items the same day we receive the order, so long as the payment has been received before 4pm (GMT) that day. However, we cannot always guarantee that this will always be the case.
Do you accept layaway, payment plans or financing?
Generally, we do not.
Will you reserve an item?
We generally don't, as we are just a small shop.
Are your prices negotiable?
We price our items fairly based on the current market. However, if you can't resist haggling, we will listen to your offer.
Do you have any special deals?
Occasionally we will offer promotional deals and voucher codes to coincide with special events.
Do you offer complimentary gift wrapping?
Yes, we offer complimentary gift wrapping at no additional charge. If you would like us to gift wrap your item, please note that in the “Special instructions for the seller” section when you begin the checkout process.
What are your shipping policies?
All items bought through our website can be delivered worldwide. All items are fully insured and sent at the risk of The Antique Ring Shop. Items will be sent out within 1 to 3 days after your purchase has been received. Please note an adult signature is required to receive all packages.
In The Netherlands, we deliver using MikroPakket, arriving next day (excluding Sundays). They specialize in jewelry, just like us.
For international orders, we use DHL Express (2 days to Western Europe, 4 days to Eastern Europe, 6 days to the USA & ROW).

I live outside The Netherlands, can I receive an item faster than your standard delivery?
Yes, you can. You can choose express shipping via DHL, which is faster than our standard delivery service (within 1-2 days in general).
Can I track my package?
Yes, we’ll email you your tracking information once your item has been dispatched.
My purchase is a surprise. Is the shop name written on the outside of the package?
As we ship with DHL, a name is required to be on the package.
What is your returns policy?
We offer a 7 day full money back guarantee on all online purchases. Items must be returned in the same condition we sent them in. All you pay for is the return cost of shipping and insurance. Please click here for more information.
Do you offer ring sizing?
Yes, we do offer sizing. You can request this under Special instructions for The Antique Ring Shop in your cart.
How long does ring sizing take?
We can size rings within a few days, same day turnaround is possible.
How much does ring sizing cost?
Ring sizing is complimentary with the purchase of a ring. If it needs to be resized again after that, costs will be €25 for gold and €50 for platinum.
Can all of your rings be sized?
Yes, unless stated in the ring's description.
Do you do repairs or adjust sizing on items not purchased in your store?
No, we only work on our own items.
Do antique rings require special care?
Generally not. If you have a Victorian or Georgian ring that is close-backed or foil-backed, then you should avoid submerging it in water. Few of our rings include this detail, so if you are concerned, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
