Ring sizing

We provide a ring sizing service, unless otherwise stated in the ring’s description. Most rings can be sized free of charge and ready for delivery within one week. Any additional costs for ring sizing will be charged before the ring is shipped.

You can request ring sizing under Special instructions for The Antique Ring Shop during checkout.

Our goldsmith does an excellent job sizing antique rings and will work around hallmarks, match gold colors and do their best to maintain the integrity and patina of the piece.

If you plan to pick up your ring in our Amsterdam store, we can measure the ring size and adjust sizing after your purchase. We only adjust sizing on rings purchased in our store.

Determining your ring size

We get a lot of questions about ring size & measurement. To make sure you know what ring size fits you best, we’ve made this overview for determining your own ring size. However, ring sizing can be tricky and is a surprisingly personal choice! Some people wear their rings loose, some tight.

Please note that the fingers on your dominant hand tend to be larger than those on your non-dominant hand, so keep that in mind when measuring for your ring size. Ensure that your finger is at its normal size before taking a measurement. Cold weather can cause your fingers to shrink a bit, while heat or water retention can cause finger swelling. We recommend measuring your size at the end of the day, when your fingers are at their ‘largest’. When the knuckle is bigger than the base of the finger, measure both places and pick a size in between the two.

Ring sizes shown on our website are European sizes, the diameter in mm. Most rings can be modified to fit your finger, so don’t be afraid to ask us about it!
